AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO THE FORT SUMNER IRRIGATION DISTRICT FOR THE ADJUDICATION OF WATER RIGHTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to provide professional services to the Fort Sumner irrigation district for the adjudication of water rights. The appropriation shall be used for services that include historical studies, hydrographic surveying and mapping, legal fees and other technical services related to the adjudication process. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
