AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CULTURAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT FOR A STATEWIDE MODERN DANCE AWARENESS PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to contract with a modern dance repertory company with experience in production and having an established pre-professional modern dance training program for junior high and high school youth for a statewide modern dance awareness program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
