AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR A PROGRAM TO ASSIST THE PECAN INDUSTRY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to support the New Mexico department of agriculture's program for economic development, research and pest protection to serve the pecan industry. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
