AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WATER CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCE RESTORATION TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred ninety-five thousand dollars ($595,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for soil and water conservation districts to match federal funds for water conservation and resource restoration technical assistance pursuant to an agreement with the United States department of agriculture natural resources conservation services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
