Mr. Speaker:

    Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 208

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 4, line 13, after the comma insert "with the exception of programs that were approved by the department for funding appropriated by the legislature for elementary physical education programs for the 2006-2007 school year,".

     2. On page 4, line 16, strike "at-risk index" and insert in lieu thereof "percentage of students eligible for free or reduced-fee lunch".

     3. On page 4, line 20, after "standards" strike the remainder of the line, strike line 21 up to the comma and insert in lieu thereof "for elementary physical education programs".

     4. On page 5, line 9, strike "courses" and insert in lieu thereof "program".,                                              

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
