HOUSE BILL 116

48th legislature - STATE OF NEW MEXICO - first session, 2007

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE NATIONAL LAMBDARAIL DUAL FIBER OPTIC NETWORK.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 to fund the university's participation in the LambdaRail dual fiber optic network as follows:  

                (1) one million dollars ($1,000,000) for fiscal year 2008; and

                (2) one million dollars ($1,000,000) for fiscal year 2009.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
