    Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 68

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, line 11, after the first semicolon strike the remainder of the line, strike all of line 12 and strike line 13 through the semicolon.

     2. On page 1, line 15, after the first semicolon strike the remainder of the line and strike all of line 16.

     3. On page 1, strike line 19 and on line 20, strike "FUND;".

     4. On page 1, line 21, after "2005" strike the remainder of the line and strike line 22 up to the period.

     5. On page 1, line 25, through page 10, line 11, strike Sections 1 through 5 in their entirety.

     6. On page 22, line 3, strike "The" and insert in lieu thereof "Dependent upon the availability of funds appropriated for the specific provisions outlined in this subsection, the".

     7. On page 22, line 4, strike "release time for" and insert in lieu thereof "stipends to attend".

     8. On page 22, line 6, after "development" insert "outside the instructional day".

     9. On page 22, line 9, after "Awards" insert "from funds appropriated specifically for the provisions of this subsection, but excluding all other professional development made available to teachers by a school district or charter school,".

     10. On page 22, line 10, strike "funded" and insert in lieu thereof "made" and strike "twelve" and insert in lieu thereof "six".

     11. On page 23, line 3, through page 36, line 6, strike Sections 11 through 15 in their entirety.

     12. On page 37, line 7, through page 45, line 16, strike Sections 17 through 21 in their entirety.

     13. Renumber the remaining sections to correspond with these amendments.,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
