    Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 589, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. Strike Senate Public Affairs Committee Amendment 1.

    2. On page 1, line 25, after the comma insert "upon certification by the department that the premises are contaminated,".

    3. On page 3, lines 13 through 15, strike "legal description or description of property sufficient to identify portion of the notice" and insert in lieu thereof "portion of the notice entitled "Legal description or description of property sufficient to identify"".

    4. On page 3, line 21, strike "determine" and insert in lieu thereof "locate".

    5. On page 4, line 14, after the period insert:

"Upon certification by the hazardous waste bureau of the department of environment, a property owner may request that the notice of the remediated property be expunged from the registry of notices.".

    6. On page 4, line 15, after the period strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 16 and 17 in their entirety and strike line 18 through the period.
