AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WATER RIGHTS ACQUISITIONS AS PART OF THE PECOS RIVER WATER ADJUDICATION SETTLEMENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eighteen million dollars ($18,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 and subsequent fiscal years to acquire water rights on the Pecos river pursuant to the Pecos river water rights adjudication settlement. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
