AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WATER RIGHTS ACQUISITION IN THE TAOS VALLEY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to match federal and local funding for water rights acquisition for the non-Indian portion of the settlement of the Taos valley water rights adjudication. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
