AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH A SATELLITE OFFICE OF THE PUBLIC DEFENDER DEPARTMENT IN GALLUP.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred fifty thousand dollars ($550,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public defender department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to establish a satellite office in Gallup, including personal services and benefits for staff attorneys and support staff and furniture and equipment. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
