AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A PROJECT THAT FOCUSES ON SMALL BUSINESS CREATION IN NORTH AMERICA, AN EVENT THAT CELEBRATES TRINATIONAL TIES IN NORTH AMERICA AND AN INTERACTIVE WEB SITE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal years 2007 and 2008 to provide for:
(1) a project to uncover the opportunities and impediments to small business creation in North America;
(2) an event that celebrates the trinational ties in the areas of culture, education and business among the countries and peoples of the North American continent; and
(3) operational expenses for an interactive web site that offers articles and reports on recent developments in North America that are of interest to researchers and policymakers.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
