FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO SUSTAIN AND INCREASE FUNDING FOR RURAL PRIMARY CARE CLINICS IN NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to sustain and increase the capacity of rural primary care clinics to provide access to quality and cost-effective health care services for uninsured patients and to maintain the state's primary care safety net pursuant to the Rural Primary Health Care Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
