AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE CENTER FOR BORDER AND INDIGENOUS EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for the center for border and indigenous educational leadership to provide a statewide demonstration school leadership program to train administrators in ways that balance rigorous classroom instruction with field experience in school improvement strategies to reflect the needs of New Mexico's diverse students. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
