A RESOLUTION
PROPOSING TO AMEND SENATE RULE 21-1 TO PROVIDE FOR A ROLLING ROLL CALL.
WHEREAS, the rules of the senate may be amended by a two-thirds' vote of the senators elected or by a majority vote of the members of the senate upon the recommendation of the rules committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Senate Rule 21-1 be amended to read:
"21-1 On taking the yeas and nays on any question, the names of the members shall be called alphabetically [and] in the first instance, alphabetically beginning with the second name on the roll in the second instance, alphabetically beginning with the third name on the roll in the third instance and continuing in a like manner each time the roll is called on a question. In the event of a tie vote, the name of the president shall be called last.".
