AN ACT

RELATING TO STATE PROPERTY; REQUIRING LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL PRIOR TO NAMING OR OTHERWISE GIVING A DESIGNATION TO A STATE BUILDING OR OTHER STATE PROPERTY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. STATE PROPERTY--DESIGNATION--LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL REQUIRED.--A state officer or governmental body shall not name or give another designation to state real property, including a site on real property, or to a state building, monument, statue, fixture or other facility or improvement unless the state legislature has given its prior approval to the name or designation.
