AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR COST-OF-LIVING INCREASES FOR ALL STATE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE MEMBERS OF THE BARGAINING UNIT REPRESENTED BY THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Four million ninety-five thousand seven hundred fifty-one dollars ($4,095,751) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for distribution to the appropriate state agency to provide cost-of-living salary increases to all state employees who are members of the bargaining unit represented by the American federation of state, county and municipal employees as follows:
(1) two million one hundred sixty-three thousand seven hundred ninety-three dollars ($2,163,793) for a three and two-fifths percent across-the-board raise effective July 1, 2005; and
(2) one million nine hundred thirty-one thousand nine hundred fifty-eight dollars ($1,931,958) for a two and one-half percent within-range raise effective January 1, 2006.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
