AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY FOR BILINGUAL EDUCATION AND NEW MEXICO HISTORY MATERIALS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred twelve thousand three hundred thirty dollars ($512,330) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 and subsequent fiscal years to prepare, compile and distribute bilingual education materials, including a book on New Mexico history, for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
