AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FUND TO PROVIDE EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSING TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PERSONNEL; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the emergency medical services fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 and subsequent fiscal years:
(1) one hundred sixty thousand dollars ($160,000) for volunteer departments to provide education, training, certification and licensing to emergency services volunteers; and
(2) three hundred eighty thousand dollars ($380,000) to provide education, training, certification and licensing to emergency medical services personnel throughout the state.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
