AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STATEWIDE INFORMATION AND REFERRAL TASK FORCE AND PILOT PROGRAM; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the developmental disabilities planning council for expenditure in fiscal years 2005 and 2006 to develop a statewide "211" information and referral system, as follows:
(1) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to establish an information and referral task force to develop a comprehensive implementation plan; and
(2) two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to develop and implement five "211" information and referral centers throughout the state.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
