AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FULLY FUND THE TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five million dollars ($25,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to maintain support services and cash assistance in the temporary assistance for needy families program at the current level. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
