FOR THE LEGISLATIVE EDUCATION STUDY COMMITTEE
AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR SCHOOL PERSONNEL INVOLVED WITH STUDENTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide professional development for public school personnel in programs for three- and four-year-old developmentally delayed and kindergarten through grade three students regarding the educational and related needs of students with autism spectrum disorder. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
