AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAMS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Two million eight hundred thousand dollars ($2,800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for early childhood programs as follows:

                (1) one million dollars ($1,000,000) for the aim high program;

                (2) three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for providing technical assistance for licensing of registered family care home providers; and

                (3) one million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) to establish satellite training and technical assistance programs.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
