A MEMORIAL

REQUESTING THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TAKE OVER AND MAINTAIN UPPER RANCHITOS ROAD IN TAOS COUNTY.

     WHEREAS, the Taos county board of commissioners has jurisdiction over all Taos county roads, including Upper Ranchitos road; and

     WHEREAS, the cost of maintaining Upper Ranchitos road far exceeds Taos county's financial ability to maintain it; and

     WHEREAS, the Taos county board of commissioners has requested that the department of transportation take over Upper Ranchitos road and maintain it;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the department of transportation be requested to take over and maintain Upper Ranchitos road in Taos county; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the department of transportation and to the Taos county board of commissioners.
