AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CREATE A SMALLER LEARNING COMMUNITIES PILOT PROJECT TO HELP STUDENTS ACHIEVE SUCCESS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION--SMALLER LEARNING COMMUNITIES PILOT PROJECT.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to support a smaller learning communities pilot project to provide academic remediation and individualized learning support for students at Santa Fe and Capital high schools in Santa Fe. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
