AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STATEWIDE FAMILY CAREGIVERS HOTLINE TO ASSIST SENIORS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state agency on aging for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to create and support a statewide family caregivers hotline to provide telephone assistance to caregivers of frail and chronically ill seniors statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
