A MEMORIAL

HONORING SENATOR PETE CAMPOS FOR RECEIVING A DOCTORATE OF EDUCATION.

 

     WHEREAS, Pete Campos has served in the senate of the state of New Mexico since 1991; and

     WHEREAS, Senator Campos' commitment to public service caused him to serve as the mayor of Santa Rosa from 1986 to 1990 and in the chamber of commerce, the rotary club and the knights of Columbus, and as a member of the Santa Rosa consolidated schools educational planning committee and the Santa Rosa tourism promotion board; and

     WHEREAS, Senator Campos has received hundreds of plaques and certificates of recognition from students and community leaders for his work; and

     WHEREAS, Senator Campos has been the co-owner of a family restaurant business for twenty-five years; and

     WHEREAS, Senator Campos holds an education license in administration, counseling, social studies and business education and currently serves as the associate superintendent for support services in the Las Vegas City School District; and

     WHEREAS, Senator Campos is married to Lori Anne Campos and together they have raised one son, Peter Samuel Campos; and

     WHEREAS, while meeting all his other obligations, Senator Campos successfully pursued a doctor of education degree from the university of New Mexico in 2003;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that "Doctor" Campos be recognized for his educational achievement and contributions to the educational community and the state of New Mexico.
