Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, line 12, strike "SURVIVORS" and insert in lieu thereof "NEW MEXICO PRISONERS OF WAR".

2. On page 1, lines 13 and 14, strike "AND PRESENTED WITH THE MEDAL OF HONOR".

3. On page 1, lines 16 and 17, strike "the members of the 200th coast artillery regiment of the New Mexico national guard" and insert in lieu thereof "New Mexico military forces".

4. On page 1, line 19, after "Islands" insert "and were the last to be captured at the fall of Bataan and Corregidor in April 1942".

5. On page 1, line 20, strike "they" and insert in lieu thereof "thousands".

6. On page 2, line 1, strike "nine hundred of the one thousand eight hundred" and insert in lieu thereof "thousands of".

7. On page 2, line 2, strike "survived" and insert in lieu thereof "suffered".

8. On page 2, line 7, after "recognize" insert "all".

9. On page 2, line 7, strike "survivors" and insert in lieu thereof "prisoners of war".

10. On page 2, line 8, strike "the medal of honor" and insert in lieu thereof "recognition keeping with military tradition and commensurate with their sacrifice and devotion to duty by awarding either a bronze star or a combat infantry badge".
