HOUSE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 945

46TH LEGISLATURE - FIRST SESSION - 2003

REQUESTED BY Earlene Roberts

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN LEA COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

• to the state highway and transportation department

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to improve and repair roads in Lea county;

• to the interstate stream commission

fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for a deep aquifer study in Lea county; and

• to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) for renovating the fairgrounds food court in Lea county;

fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for an outdoor museum, landscaping and replacement of the water system at the Towle rest area in Lea county;

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for rural telecommunications infrastructure development and broadband services in Lea county;

four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) for equipment used in fighting grass fires in Lea county; and

one million three hundred thousand dollars ($1,300,000) to design, construct and equip a treatment facility in Jal in Lea county.
