SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1___ to SENATE CORPORATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 621

Amendment sponsored by Senator

1. On page 9, line 21, after the paragraph designation (1) strike the remainder of the line and on line 22 strike "Mexico" and insert in lieu thereof "remittees with a New Mexico address as shown on internal revenue service form 1099-MISC or successor form".

2. On page 11, line 21, strike "--ELECTRONIC FILING".

3. On page 12, line 14, after the period insert:

"The department shall compile each year the annual statements received from the remitters and compare the compilation with the records of individuals, estates or trusts filing income tax returns.".

4. On page 13, between lines 18 and 19, insert the following new Subsection A to read:

"A. The effective date of the provisions of Section 1 of this act is November 1, 2003.".

5. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.

6. On page 13, line 19, strike "Subsection B" and insert in lieu thereof "Subsection C".
