MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY TO STUDY LEAST-COST WATER EFFICIENCY TECHNOLOGIES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to study and report on least-cost water efficiency technologies, policies and management and operations of drinking water systems to improve conservation and enhance available water supplies in the most cost-effective method. The institute shall report its findings and recommendations to the legislature annually before December 1. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
