AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEFRAY THE COUNTY'S COST OF TRANSPORTING PRISONERS FROM TIERRA AMARILLA TO SANTA FE BY THE RIO ARRIBA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred ten thousand dollars ($310,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal years 2003 and 2004 to defray the county's cost of transporting prisoners from Tierra Amarilla to Santa Fe by the Rio Arriba county sheriff's department. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
