AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND YEAR FOUR OF FULL-DAY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Nine million two hundred eighty-one thousand dollars ($9,281,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for year four of the five-year phase-in of full-day kindergarten programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
