AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO EXPAND AND IMPROVE EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS IN THE TOWN AND COUNTY OF TAOS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for expenditure by the office of child development to expand and improve early childhood development programs to provide early care, education and family support services to low- and moderate-income families of children from birth to age three in the town and county of Taos. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
