REQUESTING THE REVENUE STABILIZATION AND TAX POLICY COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER, DURING THE UPCOMING LEGISLATIVE INTERIM, THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LITTER CONTROL PROGRAMS AND GLASS AND OTHER RECYCLING EFFORTS IN THE STATE AND WHETHER BETTER COORDINATION OF THESE PROGRAMS WOULD RESULT IN MORE EFFECTIVE LITTER CONTROL AND GLASS AND OTHER RECYCLING EFFORTS.
WHEREAS, it is important to the people of the state of New Mexico to have clean and beautiful roadways; and
WHEREAS, the state of New Mexico, its counties and its cities have many existing roadside litter control programs; and
WHEREAS, these existing programs would be more effective if properly coordinated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the revenue stabilization and tax policy committee be requested to consider, during the upcoming legislative interim, the effectiveness of litter control programs and glass and other recycling efforts in the state and whether better coordination of these programs would result in more effective litter control and glass and other recycling efforts; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the chair of the revenue stabilization and tax policy committee.
