45TH LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION - 2002

REQUESTED BY Edward C. Sandoval

FOR PURCHASING LIBRARY MATERIALS FOR PUBLIC, SCHOOL AND ACADEMIC LIBRARIES STATEWIDE.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

• to the commission on higher education

eight million dollars ($8,000,000) to purchase library materials and books for academic libraries statewide;

• to the library division of the office of cultural affairs

nine million dollars ($9,000,000) to purchase library materials, including subscription electronic databases and equipment, for public libraries statewide; and

• to the state department of public education

eighteen million dollars ($18,000,000) to purchase library materials and books for public school libraries statewide.
