AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES BLOCK GRANT FOR PROGRAMS TO INCREASE THE MARRIAGE RATE AND STRENGTHEN FATHERHOOD, PARENTING AND THE FAMILY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the temporary assistance for needy families block grant to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for the cooperative extension service for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to develop and implement programs that increase the marriage rate and strengthen fatherhood, parenting and family formation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the human services department and shall retain its character as temporary assistance for needy families block grant funding.
