MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR AN INDEPENDENT, STATEWIDE EVALUATION OF STATE-OPERATED SECURE AND REINTEGRATION FACILITIES FOR ADJUDICATED DELINQUENT OFFENDERS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 for an independent, statewide evaluation of state-operated secure and reintegration facilities for adjudicated delinquent offenders. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
