AN ACT

RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES; PROHIBITING THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT FROM RETAINING A PRIVATE ENTITY TO ANSWER INFORMATION REQUESTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of the Human Services Department Act is enacted to read:

"[NEW MATERIAL] USE OF PRIVATE ENTITY PROHIBITED.--The human services department shall not retain a private entity to answer information requests."

Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 2002.
