AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR SERVICES TO PRESERVE THE WILD HORSES IN VALENCIA AND TORRANCE COUNTIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred eighteen thousand dollars ($318,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to contract for services, including roundups and DNA testing, to assist in the preservation of the wild horses in Valencia and Torrance counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
