AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A MIDDLE RIO GRANDE BOSQUE REVITALIZATION PROJECT IN BERNALILLO COUNTY; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal years 2002 and 2003 for a bosque revitalization project in cooperation with United States Senator Domenici's initiatives with the middle Rio Grande conservancy district to remove unnecessary jetty jacks and non-native trees to create a healthy wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities in the middle Rio Grande bosque in Bernalillo county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
