AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS IN RIO ARRIBA COUNTY TO DEVELOP YOUTH SELF-ESTEEM AND TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND TEACH LIFE SKILLS TO YOUTH.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the tobacco settlement program fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to provide adequately staffed and funded programs in Rio Arriba county that will develop self-esteem in youth and to provide training and teach life skills to help youth cope with issues and make decisions that will enable them to become successful adults. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the tobacco settlement program fund.
