AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO RESTRUCTURE PUBLIC SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to assist school districts in restructuring their administrative staff. The appropriation shall be expended through a competitive application process based on criteria established by the professional licensure unit of the state department of public education. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
