AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO FOSTER ACHIEVEMENT IN MATH AND SCIENCE OF BORDER REGION PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGH COLLEGIATE CURRICULA ADJUSTMENTS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to foster achievement in math and science of border region public school students through collegiate curricula adjustments and systematic change in math and science education in the public schools. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
