AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WATER MANAGEMENT RESEARCH AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university in the following amounts to the following organizations for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to conduct water management research:

(1) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to the agricultural experiment station;

(2) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to the cooperative extension service; and

(3) three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to the New Mexico water resources research institute.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
