SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Joint Memorial 43 requests DOH and HSD work together to develop a coordinated and comprehensive system of delivery of health care services for the children of Torrance county. HJM43 requests DOH and HSD work with the Torrance county community health council and representatives from the Children, Youth and Families Department; the Estancia, Moriarity and Mountainair school districts; private and public behavioral health contractors; SALUD! managed health care organizations; and medical and dental providers. HSD and DOH would report to LFC on the success of meeting the objectives.
Significant Issues
DOH and HSD indicate they are currently working with Torrance county on many of the issues listed in the memorial.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
HSD suggests page 2, line 15 should more correctly read "Medicaid and SCHIP."
