SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 810 appropriates $100.0 from the general fund to the Economic Development Department for a study of one-stop shopping business development programs in other states.
Significant Issues
The bill provides that a contractor will conduct the study and produce a written report of its findings, including specific recommendations regarding development and improvement of a one-stop shopping business development program in New Mexico. According to the Economic Development Department, a one-stop shop exists within the department's website. However, the appropriation could lead to improvements or expansion of the current efforts of the department.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100.0 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
