SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
This bill appropriates $43.0 from the general fund to CYFD for the purpose of contracting with culturally competent counselors and advisors to provide spiritual counseling to juveniles detained in state detention facilities.

It is not clear if youth detained in Department of Health (DOH) mental health facilities are to be covered by this bill.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $43.0 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
