House Bill 48 appropriates $1,600.0 from the general fund to the University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center for various programs listed below.
Significant Issues
House Bill 48 proposes to switch funding sources for various programs at the Health Sciences Center currently supported with tobacco settlement revenue over to general fund revenue.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $1,600.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
The funds are appropriated as follows:

Included in HB2, Section 4, to UNM Health Sciences Center, is an appropriation of $4,400.0 from tobacco settlement revenues for various programs at the Health Sciences Center. This appropriation can be used to support all the programs listed above.
