Mr. Speaker:

Your CONFERENCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL 307, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with the following recommendations:

1. House Appropriations and Finance Committee Amendments 1 and 2 be APPROVED.

and that the bill be amended further as follows:

2. On page 7, between lines 11 and 12, insert the following new subsection:

"C. Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal years 2001 and 2002 to fund a voluntary teacher incentive pay pilot program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.".
